Donna "Guitar" Grantis @ the North Atlantic Blues Festival

This Festival just happens to be on my Bucket List right up there with the Grand Canyon and the Redwoods of California. Maybe I could sit in on the drums and jam with Ms. Grantis when I get there, yeah boy!

The New Mastersounds

Jb's halftime find:

The Hollies - Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress

Jb thinks that The Hollies were second only to the Beatles across the pond where they had over 20 straight Top 20 hits back in the day (Lex just knows no one could have topped the Beatles). Graham Nash was long gone by 1971 when lead vocalist Allan Clarke decided it was his turn to split. Had to rethink his decision quick, fast and in a hurry though when this sweet ditty scored big time in the States rather than the UK. Go figure...

Eric Johnson - When DeucE Speaks...

Best listen - Jb does. One from his vault, one that takes me back to my college days. My younger brother turned me on to Eric Johnson and his amazing licks. We used to listen to Eric and Stevie Ray on the way to and from the University of New Orleans. Not much care in the world for us back then. Thanks to DeucE for the recommendation and given recent world events, a much needed walk down memory lane. Enjoy.

Stevie Ray - With A Message

The challenge is the journey...

Tightrope - Bramhall/Vaughan

Caught up in a whirlwind can't catch my breath,
knee deep in hot water broke out in a cold sweat
Can't catch a turtle in this rat race,
feels like I'm losin' time at a breakneck pace

Afraid of my own shadow in the face of grace,
heart full of darkness spotlight on my face
There was love all around me but I was lookin' for revenge,
thank God it never found me would have been the end

I was walkin' the tightrope steppin' on my friends
Walkin' the tightrope it was a shame and a sin
Walkin' the tightrope between wrong and right
Walkin' the tightrope both day and night

Lookin' back in front of me in the mirror's a grin,
through eyes of love I see I'm really lookin' at a friend
We've all had our problems that's the way life is,
my heart goes out to others who are there to make amends
We've been walkin' the tightrope tryin' to make it right
Walkin' the tightrope every day and every night
Walkin' the tightrope bring it all around
Walkin' the tightrope from the lost to found

Walkin' the tightrope stretched around the world
Walkin' the tightrope save the boys and girls
Walkin' the tightrope let's make it right
Walkin' the tightrope do it do it tonight
Walkin' the tightrope

Swing - Lisa Stansfield & Company

Remember It Ain't What You Do... Original video pulled, Replaced by their performance of Mack the Knife.

It's Just A Thought - CCR

This one came to mind after spending some time at villageundertaker.wordpress.com where a good writer shares his insight - good stuff that hits home. Thanks E for the hook-up.

"Pendulum" was the last studio release for the four original members of CCR. Some great songs on the album, including "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" but I guess by then the writing was on the wall...
